1965-66 Mustang
How to convert to Disc Brakes
Using 1977-79 Ford Granada Spindles
The spindles will bolt right on to the upper and lower control arms of the Mustang. You must change the outer tie rod ends because the hole in the Granada spindle is bigger than the one in the Mustang spindle. Use 1970 Mustang outer tie rod ends. You have to shorten the tie rods some on each side to realign the wheels but they have plenty of adjustment. The rotors, bearings, washer, and castle nut from the Granada work fine(assuming they are good). The caliper bracket and caliper work fine as well. The brake hoses are a bit different. The Granada hoses are bigger on the end that connects to the steel line and both (Granada and Mustang) are a bit short. It is possible to use them by buying adapters but they seem too short for me. After all we are working on the FRONT BRAKES!!!!!!! I found a hose (Raybestes Part-no. BH-36743) that works with no adapters and is long enough. Use the proportion valve from the Granada also. I am not sure about the Granada Master cylinder because the one I got the parts from was missing the master cylinder. I bought a rebuilt one (Pronto 10-1378) for about 15 bucks. The master cylinder needs to be for disc brakes and should be a dual reservoir.
